EARLY LIFE AND CAREER

Michelle Badger has lived in Plymouth most of her life and is a proud graduate of Plymouth South High School. She earned her undergraduate degree in History and International Affairs from Sweet Briar College, where she also played field hockey. She went on to earn dual master’s degrees in Public Administration and Political Science from Suffolk University.

A dedicated public servant, Michelle has spent years advocating for her community. She was elected five times to the Plymouth School Committee before winning her campaign for State Representative for the 1st Plymouth District in November, 2024. During her time on the School Committee, she played a key role in overseeing the construction of two acclaimed high schools, implementing a district-wide solar plan, expanding full-day kindergarten, and enhancing curriculum offerings to provide better opportunities for students.

Beyond her work in education, Michelle is deeply involved in community service. She is an active member of the Plymouth No Place for Hate Committee, a former member of the Pilgrim Area Collaborative, and a member of The Fragment Society. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Sweet Briar College Alumnae Alliance Council and has held leadership roles in various local organizations. Her dedication has been recognized with a 40 Under 40 Award, Cape & Plymouth Business Media, and the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award – Sweet Briar College, for her commitment to service.

Before becoming State Representative, Michelle served as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Massasoit Community College and spent over a decade as Director of Advancement at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), and also holds certificates in fundraising from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and Boston University.
Now, as your full-time State Representative, Michelle is dedicated to fighting for you every day. She is committed to being an accessible and transparent leader, keeping residents informed and engaged in the decisions that impact their lives.

When she’s not working for the people of Plymouth, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering, traveling, reading, playing field hockey, exercising, baking, and taking long walks with her Boston Terrier, Ellie.
